Arafat death probe 'inconclusive'

Mr Qurei said that the inquiry found that French and Palestinian doctors could not identify the disease that killed Mr Arafat.

The former Palestinian leader's death was not caused by germs, cancer, poisoning or Aids, said Mr Qurei.

Yasser Arafat died on 11 November 2004 at a French military hospital.

Speculation on the cause of Mr Arafat's death has continued in the media with many Palestinians believing that he was poisoned by Israel.

Could get sticky even if they do find a cause of death...

There was another leader (I can't think what his name is or the country) he had been slowly poisoned by the opposition and his face became all pock marked?

So I would not be supprised if his was bumped off. after all some say he was the main blockage in the peace process

Not quite the gunman on the grassy knoll, though.

If anyone poisoned him, it would have to be one of his entourage, since the Israelis would have very little to do with him.

I would think it more likely he would have been bumped off for not being obstructive _enough_ to the peace process...

Swiss scientists who conducted tests on samples taken from Yasser Arafat’s body have found at least 18 times the normal levels of radioactive polonium in his remains. The scientists said that they were confident up to an 83 percent level that the late Palestinian leader was poisoned with it, which they said “moderately supports” polonium as the cause of his death.

They (Israel) sent poisoned chocolates to a plo leader with a notoriously sweet tooth, took him months to die iirc so I wouldn't put anything past them although I didn't see what the had to gain then from his demise if they genuinely wanted peace.
