I wonder if there will be any intentions of expanding the cable footprint.
I believe that ntl & TW only cover about 50% of the UK population. There are streets in the middle of currently cabled regions that were never cabled for some reason. My sister lives in a long road in Westcliff-on-Sea with hundreds of houses, but strangely, TW never cabled the road.

I am sure some clever young marketing agency will be paid a lot of money to sit in a room and think of a name.
ntl ceo: "I want a name that shows what a forward looking dynamic company that shows our core brand values. I dont know something like UK Cable."
Marketing guy 1: " out free is £x Million"
ntl ceo: "that sounds reasonable" - Leaves the room
Marketing guy 1: "anyone got any ideas?"
Marketing guy 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 "hummmmm"
Pause
Marketing guy 1:"how about UK Cable, we could make it italic so it shows speed and make it putple and green to give a hint of the comapny it came from!
Marketing guy 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 "hummmmm"
