how to connect PS2 to PX w windows XP PRO?

Hi
I have a PS2 with build in networking card and the disk for network configuration

i have a Windows XP Pro pc, wireless connected to an Access Point and via the AP to broadband internet ADSL modem/router
This PC has also a standard ethernet card.
the wireless connecton gets its ip number from the modem/router who is on DHCP and is also the gateway 192.168.2.1

I have a crossover cable to connect the PS 2 to the PC's ethernet card. the link is accepted by both the comp (green light at the cards back) and the Playstation

And if I bridge under "Network Connections" in windows, the two conections (the ethernet and the wireless usb conection)windows accept the bridge but disconnect the wireless connection and with that my internet connection. SO the bridge does not get its ip number form the dhcp router/modem

how can i share my internet connection with the PS 2?

i should have this in Network setup wizzard
but this entree does not exist:This computer connects to the internet thru a residential gateway or thru another computer on my network. Another computer (PS2!) on my network connects to the internet thru this computer

How can i connect the PS2 to my computer? how do i configure XP?

Can you not just connect it to the router instead of trying to share the connection through the PC?
If you gave a few more details it would help us to figure it out for you. Make and model of AP, ADSL modem/router etc.

as Paul says connect direct to the router not the pc and use a straight patch cable not a crossover for this

the wireless router is 2 stairs downstairs

i live under the attic. where i have my own room

my pc has one ethernet card in a pci slot and wireless usb card, who is seen by windows as a connection with its own ip number given by dhcp.
on this comp i have internet
the csossover cable is needed by the Play station 2 to connect to the PC

IS it maybe impossible?

erghh i idid that they just say use the cross over cable to the ethernet card and let windows Internet sharing b einstalled correctly. windows xp has no ICS as i see it, only network wizard.

but there is a little more tips i look it thru

In Windows go into the Network Connections widget in Control Panel and Right-Click the Wireless Connection, on one of the tabs there is a checkbox to share the connection with other users of the network, tick it, click OK, and huzzar, reboot everything and you should have a connection.

yes it is a hidden tab behind another tab..

Does it meanthis internet connection is now shared for the ethernet card in the comp or any outher "out" like the usb ports?

MEaning i do not have to "bridge" some connection?

The Internet Connection SHOULD be shared (once the box is checked and OKd) on the Ethernet card. If you run IPConfig

start->run
type "cmd" (no quotes) and press Enter or OK
type "ipconfig" (no quotes) and press Enter

and tell me the IP Address of your network card, should be something like 192.168.x.x

found the ip of the wirless connection:
192.168.2.9 (given by the modem router)
gateway 192.168.2.1

ethenetcard: media not connected

which is true as the PS2 is now used by my brother in another room (not networked).
i will post my developments
