A mic problem.

I have a strange problem with my mic which has just recently started. It seems even with my headphones on, my mate on teamspeak can hear everything I can from my own rig. About 10 mins ago we tried playing Doom 3 and he could hear all the gun shots before his computer loaded the level.

Running XP SP2
Latest version of TS

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers soundcard
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling teamspeak

not sure where else I can look. any one else had this problem. ?

Re: A mic problem.

Check the Team Speak sound settings (options). I suspect you have it set to voice activation and the activation level / volume / sensitivity is far too high.

you wouldnt believe how much time i have spent tweaking the volumes in ts. I tried setting a button up to talk but the moment i press the button, my m8 can hear the music. Volume levels are all normal and he can still hear me even thou im wearing headphones.

Re: A mic problem.

The plot thickens...

We just tried Doom 3 and Guild Wars. On both games it turns out my mate cant hear me unless I turn the games volume right down, and even then I have to raise my voice.

I have moved the voice activation level up and down but the same problem remains.

Re: A mic problem.

It sounds like ur sending out everything.. and NOT just your micorphone...

Open your volume controls (The windows one by double clicking speaker in system tray)...

Then click on options --> prooperties Then select the recording button and click ok...

Finally make sure that Microphone is selected and NOT Wave/Mp3, "stereo mix" or "What U Hear"

Sorry Oinky, I have only just got round to reading your post, 10 mins after formatting and reinstalling the works. (which fixed my problem) Thanks for this thou, because no doubt I might hit this problem again in future.
