Re: Silent Mouse

The point of using a microswitch in mouse buttons is to give a positive feel aswell as a very slight noise that you will hear, to really have that noise become annoying the user would have to be clicking like crazy.

<offtopic> Nought wrong with PCworld, bet it has far more n00b customers than staff, I highly doubt any computer shop and all their staff knows absolutely everything about every product they sell, if they did then the products would be likly out of date by the time they have learnt everything about each item. its up to the customer as much as any one else to research any product they feel like purchasing, many more local and online stores have this in their terms including scan.co.uk</offtopic>

Re: Silent Mouse

In reply to Nitronutter, my gf does alot of work in photoshop and fireworks this can be very intense click click click click, as she works pixel by pixel sometimes in her work.

That is why it can get so unbelievably annoying.

Re: Silent Mouse

I brought my laptop in PC World. For the spec it was far cheaper there than anywhere else. (But in that case they were having a bank holiday sale, and there was £250 off it.)

Re: Silent Mouse

Ok well in that case i would be considering putting her work computer out of earshot, if she is dealing in such precision in her artwork then it could take a very long time for anyone to get used to a silent mouse that doesnt use microswitches and thereby losing that positive feel for each click. Would be kind of like driving a car with four wheels and then jumping into and driving a hover car that has no wheels, you instanly lose the positive feel of the road contact with the wheels via the steering wheel.
