Exclamation Sychronising files on network.

Hi, I have set up a wireless network at home consisting of my base PC (XP PRO) and my wifes laptop ( XP HOME), no problems so far. I want to set up offline filing so all documents, address books etc will automatically update on each computer. I have shared all the drives on my base PC and they appear in "My network places" on the laptop. However they do not appear in my "offline files" folder on the PC so I am unable to synchronise the drives. I wondered if it may be something to do with access rights that needs tweaking but cannot get any further, any suggestions gratefully received.

Re: Sychronising files on network.

You haven't mentioned this step, so forgive me if you're already done it.

Have you right clicked the shared folders and selected "make available offline" from the resulting menu?

That's the problem I'm having, when I right click "make available offline" isn't an option shown! If it was I think that would solve my problem, but I don't know how to make it appear.

Re: Sychronising files on network.

The 'Make Available Offline' feature is XP Pro only, not Home.

Re: Sychronising files on network.

Maybe we're a step back from where I thought we were:
Have you done this yet?

Click Start, and then click My Computer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
Click the Offline Files tab.
Select the Enable Offline Files check box, and then click OK.
