I am in London and have been having the channel 5 problems too. Spoke to a nice lady in customer services about it today and she explained that there was an "outage" last week. She also went on to say that it had been fixed and must be a local problem in my area. I said this was unlikely as I read on several forums that this problem is affecting people over the whole country. I was offered an engineer to come out and look at my cabling, but I declined and said perhaps someone at ntl HQ should look at the cabling there....I didn't get a response to that comment.
Can anyone at ntl explain what's going on and when it will be fixed as customer services say its been "sorted"? It is riduculous that a major channel such as this has been affected for so long and all ntl can say is either its been fixed or the problem is at our end.
PS: This is affecting several other channels which are not in widescreen and all look like analogue pictures to me.

Re: Channel 5
Well Rob2005. It's still the same this morning on five (not widescreen and anologue type picture and ghosting). Not noticed it on any other channels though. I'm not going to ring them (ntl), just have to put up with it until someone in ntl land realises their mistake.

Re: Channel 5
The fault I had with 5 has now been fixed. It was affecting Customers on the Bromley franchise. As I suspected NTL were indeed using an anologue feed during the fault, because of a problem with the Digital version.....Shame I've lost teletext though.
