ntl cable modem.deactivated???

hi,
does anybody know if ntl modems are registered to a specific account?i`ve moved recently and took my modem with me.the place i live now already has ntl broadband so i put a splitter in the cable and have been using 2 modems on one broadband connection.today my modem stopped working, which is also the day my ntl finished the 30 day notice period.i don`t know if this co-incidence or my modem has been deactivated.i`ve seen modems on ebay but will these work if i buy another?does anybody know how i can get it to work?i`d be most grateful if any one can offer me any advice on this problem.thank you very much,
Andrew

Re: ntl cable modem.deactivated???

Don't buy any NTL gear of Ebay or any other site, getbin touch with NTL and sort it.

Re: ntl cable modem.deactivated???

What you have been doing is ILLIGAL & is classed by NTL as THEFT !!!If you move ,your modem is deactivated until the account is set up at the new residence.
Spike.
Oh, and thanks to activites like what you have described above,I'm out of a job because partly to the lost revenue caused by THIEVES LIKE YOU!!!! If you are stealing service like you state above, you dont have my help, only my contempt!!!

My advice is that you should not steal service by using more than one cable modem at a time, or by purchasing ntl property (eg modems) from ebay.

Theft of service is something that is not supported by Cable Forum, and therefore this thread is closed.
