ACC Software Bullet info needed

Have started new thead so it's clear what I'm looking for and why.

I work in the Philippines where we still use the Jerrrold ACC4000 and CFT2254 STB.

In the last few months we have started to see " test " units arrive.

We are looking for a way to stop them from working here, I see alot of units on the web state they are " bullet proof "

Was told the " bullet software might help to shut the units off, Does anyone have any info on this?

We are looking for a way other then Digital to stop this type of Theft.

Tips and idea very welcome, Again Looking for a way to stop theft of service. My system here are very small and can't afford to lose money in this way and also can not affound to go Digital.

If you work for a legitimate company in the philipines surely you must have other ways of getting these tools other than asking on an unofficial help site?

Also, the term "bullet proof" in common usage is just another term for "secure". It is just a figure of speech, not a reference to a piece of software.

The legitimate company(s) that I work for are small and tight to money and connections. We are still just at 450Mhz now and charge a whole $4.00 per month for cable. We are trying anywhere and everwhere in effort to find a way to stop cable theft. Again any tips on the bullet on how to use it or other idea how to stop these " test " units from working would be helpfull.

I can't help thinking that you would be better off contacting NTL through official channels if you require more information on how they lock down their boxes. Maybe someone on the team can pass your query onto NTL itself to see what they have to say but I think that contacting them with proof of who you are, who you work for and what information you are looking for would be helpful.

I suggest that you contact some cable TV operators in big US cities, where they might remember counter-piracy measures on the early analogue cable systems. It was many years ago now, but there was indeed a "bullet" transmitted by a US cable operator which exploited a weakness in early pirated STBs, so as to disable them. It is unclear whether such weaknesses still exist in more recently hacked STBs. This is what they mean when they say a hacked STB is now "bullet-proof".
