Linksys firmware
I've been looking for a good replacement firmware for the Linksys WRT54G. Now, the original Cisco one is fine, but I'd like a little more control and SNMP monitoring.
Has anyone got any advice on good firmware for this?
Also, has anyone got any advice on the correct procedure for uploading new , non-cisco firmware? The web-upload seems to be a bit flaky.
I was trying it last night, and nearly killed the router a few times (this is why, for those who have me down as an MSN or Yahoo contact, I was going on and off line).

Re: Linksys firmwares
If memory serves, there was one by the "Dangerous Brothers" which came pretty highly recommended, I was going to install it on mine, but never did in the end. It definitely had SNMP monitoring.

Re: Linksys firmwares
Not sure about firmware, but the the OS the router runs on is Linux and you can update this. It should open up some more possibilities for controlling the router.

Re: Linksys firmwares
I'm using
Wifi-box.net Release Version: 2.02.2.1.wfb 01/02/2004
And it is the best firmware for the router that i have found.
