PS2 Problems

I have some problems with my PS2 can you help

1. my 8-meg card has become corrupt (it says only 400k free and nothing is used when there are saves on it). I is connected to the PS2 via a 16 meg expander card. How can I retrieve this or format it, i did read somewhere you press bottons on boot up?

2. Since upgrading Action Replay Max to ver 692, it is missing games from the listings, has anybody had this problem, I tried using an earlier version which was on the 8-meg which was ok, before that failed (see above)

Re: PS2 Problems

Bearing in mind that I don't actually own a PS2 and have not done this, here's something that is posted on another site about formatting PS2 memory chips...

How do I format my PS2 memory card?

There is not a format option per say on the ps2 that I am aware of. What you are capable of doing is going into the system and deleting whatever you do not want to keep.

Start your ps2 up without a disc in it. You should have an option to browse. When you go into this option it will show you the memory card or memory cards. Choose the memory card that you want to delete info from. It will now give you options to delete or copy information. Delete the information. If you have files that you want to keep and you do have another memory card, you can copy them to the other card so you can keep that information. I hope that answered your question.
erm, is that any help? Or is that what you already did?

Re: PS2 Problems

Hmm, sorry mate... my knowledge of consoles doesn't go much further than a Sega Megadrive.

Although I did see this product, which is apparently able to format memory cards, so it must be possible.

Hopefully someone who actually knows what they're talking about (as opposed to me who just has Google as a homepage ) will be able to help out

Re: [Merged] Action Replay Max problems for the PS2

Hi David, I'am glad i'm not the only one with this problem (Codes missing from Action Reply). Proves to me it wasn't just my imagination!

I can't help thinking that this is a bit of an sneeky one on the part of datel. I downloaded an update last night hoping that the problem would of sorted itself out. No such luck there then! On closer inspection i also noticed Final Fantasy x has also disappeared off the list. Now i know at some point datel where selling these codes in packs.

Maybe they have purposely "lost" these codes, hoping that people would go into their local HMV and pick up these packs to replace the missing codes.

Just wish i had kept a backup of the codes now!!!

Hindsight is a great gift!

Re: [Merged] Action Replay Max problems for the PS2

UPDATE:

got an e-mail from code junkies

Further to your email we apoligse for any inconvenience but due to various problems we had to temporally remove the codes, please find attached the code page. The best suggestion I could give is to try a format of the memory card whipping it clean. If you load the Max memory program within Action replay at the memory card selection screen press square on your joy pad. This will give you the option to format the memory card confirm at this point now try and use the card again.
