Elvis tribute on ITV

Is it just me or is/was it pathetic? i'm no great Elvis fan but i'm dissapointed at this offering.

Re: Elvis tribute on ITV

When will they stop milking his legacy forever? let him rest now, I appreciate he is a musical legend, but come on every year it is a tribute here tribute there?

Let the poor guy rest and his family must be sick and upset seeing this year after year.

Well, just from what you quoted, they have interviews from his wife and daughter, you can't get much more closer to him

True, but 'Elvis by the Presleys' is quite an affectionate view at his life. I've never been much of an Elvis fan, but I'm getting to like him better all the time. lol.

Re: Elvis tribute on ITV

I may be 21 and it may be "uncool" at my age to like and listen to Elvis but I like it, and not this remastered milk for more money rubbish, the old fashioned vinyl recordings and tapes I like.

Re: Elvis tribute on ITV

Tribute to Elvis?

Insult, more like. This has probably got to be one of the most cringeworthy shows I've seen ITV do in a while - the performances by "celebrities" were dire.

Peter Andre is a pop hasbeen, and should stay that way. Away from a camera and away from a microphone and recording studio.

Elvis must have been turning in his grave!

Re: Elvis tribute on ITV

Elvis' songs need male singers.

Catherine Jenkins is a lovely looking girl and probably a good opera singer, but she slaughtered "It's now or never". Katie Melhua and the Bad Girls were awful too.

The guys didn't fare much better. Russell Watson and Tony Hadley did alright, but they'd have been far better of getting some real sound/dance-alikes doing the songs.

I wonder who's up next for the "-mania" treatment?

Don't know why, but ITV appear to love him & Moron... Sorry, Jordan. Can't stand either myself, and personally think it is another sign that ITV is failing...

Re: Elvis tribute on ITV

I was doing other things as I knew it was going to be awful but from the adverts for it that was more than enough to know I was making the right choice!

Re: Elvis tribute on ITV

I detest Elvis anyway - so this programme was torture! I was round my sister's house so I couldn't very well jump up and switch it off - but oh, how I wanted to!
ITV must be desperate to fill a programme slot - surely they have some half decent repeats to show instead of this drivel?
