Post Connection wiring Setup

Can anyone please help me setup my connections using scart leads or anything else which may be required. I have the following equipment:

Sony TV: Two Scart Connection
Sony VCR: Two Scart Connection
Digital Reciever: Two Scart Connectiion (I presume there are no more the 2)
Sony DVD Player: most likely two scart connections.
Upstairs TV which is running a Total Control AV Sender(one of those wireless things which allows you to change channelsos cable, vcr and dvd).i did previously have an STB cable running to the upstirs tv for the cable which is still there.

I had all this running properly with out any interference but sine i have had my floors done the connections have gone heywire.

at the moment when i watch my dvd's i have to switch of my cable box and when i watch (DVD)them on the upstairs TV I get a black and white picture. I also cant seem to recrod them onto my vcr anymore....i think i need an overhaul of my connections.

any ideas......

Re: Connection wiring Setup

I take it the setup had to be un-wired and moved for the new flooring? If you can't record onto the VCR anymore then it sounds as though you haven't got a source cable going through the VCR connections.
Can you post a brief description of what is plugged into what at the moment starting at your signal source itself?

Re: Connection wiring Setup

I have an identical setup, except that I haven't got an AV control centre upstairs.

The way I do it is this:

NTL TV Scart Out -> TV Scart In (for RGB pictures from cable)
TV second Scart -> VCR (TV sends picture through scart lead to VCR; VCR sends picture back to TV when playing a video)
DVD Player -> NTL Box "VCR" Scart socket (when playing a DVD, this passes through the cable box to the TV, so I get an RGB picture)

If you then take the RF output of the VCR for your wireless sender, you *should* be able to watch cable TV, videos and unprotected DVDs byu chaning the VCR to the correct Scart input channel. However, you probably won't be able to watch Macrovision-protected DVDs, as the VCR will mash up the signal -- this is quite possibly what you're witnessing now. The solution is either to get a highly illegal Macrovision-cancelling Scart lead, or to use an RF-out socket on your DVD player (if there is one) to the TV, which would hopefully send a de-Macrovisioned picture through the Scart to the VCR, and thus upstairs.

That all sounds bloody complicated, doesn't it!
