My broadband modem has started to disconnect itself for no reason that I can fathom. Sometimes I can reconnect after closing down and rebooting, and sometimes not. It's a USB connection on XP Home.
Any ideas for a fix please ? Is it possible for a hacker to "steal" or to hi-jack my connection sending me offline ?
Hi my friend has aol broadband 512k he wants to migrate to new isp will his bt voyager modem usb work with another isp or he has to buy new modem

It depends if he is changing to a cable ISP such as NTL, in which an ADSL modem would not work, or not.
Some modems are ISP specific and will only work with that supplier.
I am not sure about the BT Voyager, its best checking with BT.
