A Riddle
I'm a 5 letter word containing nothing. If you take away my last letter I still sound the same. If you take away my first letter you'll still know who I am. Take away my middle letter and I'm still me. What am I?

Re: A Riddle
I have one, but its a bit famous, so quite a few might know.
Here goes anyway.
What goes upon 4 legs when it is young, 2 legs during middle age, and 3 legs during old age? Bonus point (except for Graham ) to whoever says who came up with it?

Man,
It was quoted in Tolkien's "The Hobbit" as one of the riddles Gollum asked Bilbo. Whether or not that was first usage, I couldnt say.

I suggest you read the version of that in Pyramids by Terry Pratchett

JSYK: That riddle was devised by the Sphinx as one that could never be solved. Odeipus solved it, which annoyed the Sphinx somewhat and she killed herself. So it pre-dates Tolkein's book by some considerable margin.
Edit: Actually, I didn't know it was in The Hobbit, so it was far more famous than I realised
