I was lucky my Postie left mine next door and left a little card to say what it was he left and who with.
I wasn't even their usual little card it actually was marked with a special Harry Potter Stamp.

Re: Harry Potter
Never mind the spiler tag, please just DO NOT post any of the contents.
The spoiler tag is soo tempting to look at & some of us have to wait to read our copy
I had to kick my daughter off the PC to get her to read it, ungrateful wench!

I never preorder.I just waited until yesterday afternoon and ambled in and bought it for my son-who opted for the adult version now that he is nearly 17.

Re: Harry Potter
Quite nice to see I am not the only grown man reading the books.
Although I can't honestly say they are children's books, judging by the content of books 3, 4, 5. Sinister to say the least.

Re: Harry Potter
I would love to read them some day, its just I'm not much of a book reader.
I started the Philosopher's stone though and its amazing how much more detail you get than in the films.
A friend of mine bought it straight away and was nearly half way through the book a few hours later. She's a big fan.

They certainly got bigger & more developed after the 1st two books.
Philosopher's Stone was just... too short. Chamber of Secrets wasn't much bigger.
I guess after the success of the 1st two, JKR realised that a lot of adults read them too.

Received the book yesterday morning, pre ordered it back in february.
Read a fair bit of it so far and i'm quite into it.
It does seem a lot darker than the other books.
but im not gonna give anything away.

Actually - if that is the case its a bit daft...
Childrens version...
Adult version
Is it just me or are the words Harry Potter even bigger on the Adult version .
|
The reason why the words are bigger is because at first glance you'd think the 'adult' and I use that term loosely, was reading a Dennis Potter book.
