Sending e-mail problems.

Hi All.!

Having problems sending a e-mail to my Dad in france with a picture attachment.
is the error message i get and i`ve checked the pop and smtp settings and they seem ok.

" Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F"
Any ideas as this also happens when i don`t attach a picture as well.!

Re: Sending e-mail problems.

First thing I'd do, when somethign odd happens that I can't explain is to reboot the PC.

Have you got anywhere that you could send another email to from the same account, or a different account on the same PC. Might get closer to isolating what is at fault.

Reboots don`t make any difference, but i can try forwarding it to myself.
Couldn`t be a Norton problem could it?, I`ve got the AVG e-mail scanner disabled as well.

Re: Sending e-mail problems.

For 0E and 0F errors I often blame Norton. The following page may be of use:

This normally relates to email scanning, if you have norton you need to disable it for incoming & outgoing scanning, disabling the whole product, doenst seem to knock this off, there is a similar thing within AVG, but i can remember at the mo how to turn that off...
