FTP Upload problem - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

Hi

Having problems uploading using FTP

I use SmartFTP and get the error:

"An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host"

I have tried with several different files.

Download works fine.

I have tried with different FTP sites and also tried using 3DFTP and get an error as well.

I have also shut down my software firewall just in case that was causing problems (Outpost).

Any ideas??

The site I am trying to upload is OK cause i have tried to upload the files from work and it works fine

Thanks

What version of SmartFTP are you running?

I've just Googled "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host", & one result gave this:

http://www.smartftp.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9038&

Someone got the same error with a recent build. If this is actually the same as your problem, it's apparently been fixed in v1.5.988.25

Other than that...no ideas, sorry.

Heh, fair enough, although your post wasn't there when I started writing mine.
