Re: GAY TV - Launched on PPV
Well nothing has been said about it appearing anywhere and no advertising for the channel I have seen indicates that Gay TV has appeared on ntl. Also, there is no such channel available on the STB I have (and I think I am in a Bromley area) and all that are listed are the nine heterosexual adult PPV services available. There's also no mention of it on ntl's website.
I may be wrong but don't you pay £5 per night rather than £5 per movie?

Re: GAY TV - Launched on PPV
I wouldn't pay it, not for 18s anyway. For a R18 movie maybe but OfCom has said that we are not adult enough to view R18 movies in case the children happen to steal the PIN codes, which to me is far more difficult than putting a DVD into a DVD player and pressing paly.
Anyway, back on topic...

IIRC, Gay TV replaced Red Hot Climax a couple of weeks ago. Try rebooting then see if it appears in the listings.

Re: GAY TV - Launched on PPV
Well I will go to the foot of my proverbial stairs. Gay TV has, indeed, replaced Red Hot Climax. Given that this is the first time in the history of ntl that it has allowed gay content to be available one would have thought they might mention it somewhere. As I said, there is no mention of it on their website.
Bets on, however, that none of the other gay channels which might hold some interest, such as Gaydate TV, Gaydar Radio nor Faze TV (when it launches) appear however.

Re: GAY TV - Launched on PPV
Is this for real? Another channel that will be going to the bottom (no pun intended [ADMIN EDIT - Simon M] - Just behave, you know, THINK before you post - Is it REALLY that hard ???) of my list. I wish they'd make an option so that you can't see channel's that you don't want to.

Re: GAY TV - Launched on PPV
I take it this will be catering for men as female gay sex has been on the porn channels for a long time

With respect why should we get a whole host of Gay tv channels? my gay friends find it insulting, there are no heterosexual tv channels, tv channels cater for the general public.
It is bad enough as it is with so many adult channels, Ofcom should force the adult channels/Playboy/TVX etc to cater for people of every sexual orientation.

Re: GAY TV - Launched on PPV
Yes, it's catering for gay men.
I recall The Adult Channel did exactly that and had a gay night once a week. It was a shame they chose to remove it. I guess that as more space has become available providers have chosen to launch individual channels aimed at specific target audiences. Gay TV, for example, is one of a group of a number of other adult stations, the rest being heterosexual.
As for your other point, it's each to their own. The other TV channels do not, IMO, cater for a gay audience which is why individual channels have sprung up. For example, the BBC has not broadcast any programme of any description for the gay licence fee payers (who contribute 10%+ to the licence fee pot) since 2002. I am sure ntl will not carry Faze TV but if it did I'd subscribe. Also, I'd listen to Gaydar Radio but, again, ntl have chosen not to make it available to me.
And before anyone says anything, I cannot have Sky where I live.

'Gay' audience? What do you mean? Is the a 'gay' way to decorate a house? Or a 'gay' way to broadcast a cop show? Or a 'gay' way of listening to the radio?
