It lets you read it first time but sets three cookies. Delete the one that doesn't expire at the end of the session and set it not to accept cookies from that site.

In addition, it needs extra bandwidth to cope with the growth of new broadband services and extend the company's high-bandwidth Ethernet and IP Virtual Private Network (IP-VPN) services to more business customers by doubling the number of business hub sites in the network.

The contract for the upgrade has been given to Cisco Systems which will create a single platform based around its Internet Protocol Next Generation Network (IP NGN) technology.

Telewest is upgrading 14 regional head-ends and 64 hub sites to Gigabit Ethernet, using Cisco 7609 Series routers at its regional head-ends and hub sites, with integrated Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) pluggable optics, to provide dual 10Gbps capacity network to support the TVOD services.

The Cisco 7609 Series routers with Supervisor Engine 720 comprises the multiservice edge platform for TVOD services, Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs and Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS) aggregation, together with Cisco Catalyst 6748 and 6704 Ethernet line cards with Distributed Forwarding Cards to create a scalable Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure.

So could this be an indication of speed increases to come?

Don't think its a question of speed upgrades coming or not more a question of how well the network can cope with it, thats why im glad to see their upgrading.

Re: Telewest Network Upgrades

But that ISP turned out to be the one with slower speeds with caps in place.

Yeah slower by most reports than by coming from this forum and yeah you can just hear the cries from people going over their 'cap in place'

Just remember ntl will own you soon so bow down.

Mebbe but I can't remember the last time an entire region of said ISP's networks became overloaded to the point where service status announcements had to be done

You should consider yourself the few lucky ones without any problems.

Nah there've been lots of people who've been happy bunnies with ntl, if there weren't they'd be out of business.

We see a lot of the worst of it here and on ADSLGuide, necessarily so, happy people don't tend to post about how great their service is.
