The example PDF above is what I tend to call "Internet Explorer Print Syndrome" - you can tell it from a mile away, as the page is ridiculously cropped at the sides so nothing fits on the page and is loads of wasted paper and general annoyance.
To combat it, you need to tweak your magins in IE. I've forgotten what the defaults are, but they waste alot of paper because they are so thick - like Word's margins. But I have changed mine so that I get the most coverage on each page.
This is how I have set mine up in IE ...
This means that in Distiller and on my printer, I get the most use of the page and don't end up with stupidly thick borders down the sides.
Also with the Acrobat Distiller you should be able to change the paper size to A3 and in Acrobat you should be able to make it fit to the size of paper in your printer (ie. shrink it so it fits on A4 paper). Look at the example PDF I have created showing what I mean when you adjust your margins and change paper to A3.
Hope this is of some help.
However, what irks me about the Acrobat distiller is its handling of transparent GIFs - it just can't do them, and they appear as not so subtle white squares. Any ideas as to how to sort this?
