Has anyone seen this email before, they have suddenly started sprining up on a customers computer and now mine, I can only think it is something to do with some doedgy software previously installed on his computer, or still installed.. just wondered if anyone else has seen it.

I've seen similar ones.
The idea is that you subscribe to a spamblocking service that will validate if the message is coming from a genuine source.
I wouldn't bother with it if it's not from someone you've actually sent a mail to, because it's probably due to a "real" spam using spoofed addresses.

Re: Spammed!
afaik the www.spammed.com project is a genuine attempt to cut out spam. what is strange is that you (apparently) sent a delivery failure, indicating someone probably spoofed your address.

Re: Spammed!
The intersting thing is that, it says that an email address on my domain has signed up to it... i can assure you i havant.. which leads me to beleive this may be a bit dodgey... or as it is in beta a bit haywire...
The customer who originally got one of these, has not knowingly signed up to the service... Although I feel he may have used some of idownloads other software.... iDownload seem a little dodgey to me anyway..

Re: Spammed!
Just wanted to update this, It appears that it comes from a company called iDownload, who are in the press rather a lot for there iSearch toolbar...
I would advise people to not add there email address to this, the customer who this started with did not sign up to this service, but may inadvertantly have installed some of there software previously.

Re: Spammed!
Swines ain't they, aint this illegal in some way or can people actually make money somehow with this legally? ( assuming they make money from it, as it can be the only motive I know)

Re: Spammed!
I guess they could sell the email addresses they harvest, as they are all guranteed live email addys, the price for them would be high!
