Copying movies to DVD
Hi Everybody
I am having a bit of trouble when I copy movies(either MPEG or AVI) to DVD. When I use Nero with all the updates, chose Create DVD video, drag in the files and burn the Files to the HDD, the vob files play but are stuttering during play back.
If i use winAVI, or Cucusoft to create DVD video files, the same thing happens again and the vob files all stutter during playback either from the PC, or when i burn them onto CD and try to play them.
I am running winXP sp2 with all MS updates.
The original files play fine in any program Realplayer, Windows Media Player 10.
If I create VCD's, they all play fine, issue is only with creating DVD video files.
Can anybody shed some light onto the subject?

Re: Copying movies to DVD
I think the words are backing up your DVDs not copying them.
try just saving the video file to your hard disk, and get a program called nero vision express, this should help, when it is chacking and burning the data, it looks stuttery, but it is fine when played back on DVD player.
other than that, I am stumped.

Re: Copying movies to DVD
personally, i use avi2dvd. piece of freeware, one-click avi or dvd > dvd backup. takes all the stress out of it, and avoids using things like tmpgenc, which always seem to go wrong for me. it's freeware available from afterdawn and the like, you could try that...

Re: Copying movies to DVD
Sounds like the problem lies with the codec being used to convert the files into mpeg2 format. I know if you try to run a svcd file from a dvd disk you get similar problems with stuttering. Try Dave Stones suggestion and download avi2dvd but it also might be worth downloading a different mpeg2 encoder, try Elecard MPEG-2 Encoder from here http://www.elecard.com/download/
