Samsung and SCART Switching

Hi

Due to the BB upgrade we now have a shiny new Samsung box. I've got this setup to my Widescreen TV via SCART and set the STB to Widescreen. As we don't use the RF lead although it is connected I never tuned this in on the TV.

When I turn the STB on the TV doesn't SCART switch to AV1 but if I flick through a few channels it will switch after awhile. Read somewhere that this might be because I am turning the STB on to a none widescreen channel. (See i did do a search before posting :-) )

Is this still an issue and any news on when it will be fixed.

The other thing i notice is that after getting the TV to turn onto AV1 the picture seems abit darker until I have selected another channel and then turned back.

Re: Samsung and SCAT Switching

I think there is a problem with the voltages on the Samsung box. I think i'm right in saying this is solved by changing the picture output from composite to RGB(Settings->picture settings->(in here).) In this page is also a scart control setting. Make sure this is on.

Changing from Composite to RGB will also improve the picture quality immensely

Re: Samsung and SCAT Switching

You may however need to tell your TV that its now recieving RGB - Its a seperate AV input on Sonys, on others it may be a menu item.

Re: Samsung and SCAT Switching

changing from composite to RGB will make no difference (this is how i run mine)

There was a thread about this a while ago. I thought it said it was a bug in the software one the STB and as due to having the STB set to widescreen

I have mine on RGB as well and can also confirm that it does it on that setting.

Re: Samsung and SCART Switching

It's a bug in the software. It only does it if you have a widescreen TV, and it is tuned to a widescreen programme when you take the box out of standby. I don't have a date for when it will be fixed. Meanwhile, you could just leave the box on all the time.

No idea about the "bit darker" thing.
