ntl channels sticking

Is it a common problem? Used to happen on certain channels... E4, but E4+1 is fine. Picture would stick badly.

Started happening occassionally on ITV1 now.

Common problem?

when it occurs, make sure you are on normal tv and press page up, then page down, then blue.

Post back how many pre and post RS errors you are seeing in the network status pages.

0800 052 2000... chose the faults option then DTV....

it may be a problem in your area with one stream, but it may also need a tech to visit....

Re: NTL channels sticking

Aren't you the one who wants to split the signal to add an unauthorised box? Sounds like you haven't got enough signal to start with.

If a tech visits, that would be a good opportunity to hand back your 'spare' box.

Re: NTL channels sticking

Hi all

I have just had the same problem. progs 1-4 pretty well OK but all package channels freezing.

Contacted CS Monday and (polite and helpful) engineer came today.

He changed the STB as, according to his diagnostics, signal strength was fine and the old STB (installed June 1988) was seeing noise which wasn't there.

Will have to wait for the New STB to register itself before the package channels come up, but it seems Ok On Ch 1-4.

Moral is, all chips time expire eventually and when they start to operate outside specs. you get troubles which mean you need a new piece of kit!

So if your box is more than 5 years or so old, then you probably need a new box too.

Well it's now 2 days since the new STB went in and still no package channels, just 1 - 4. I get the message sying that the card is not registered to the STB and to call CS

Called CS yesterday and explained the story so far who said that they would 'send a refresh, it will take an hour or so to register." Two hours later no channels, but CS had gone home until Monday.

Have been without package channels for a week now (unwatchable until Friday then unobtainable) - should I get a credit for this?

Cheers

Geoff
Does anyone out there have any advice as to exactly waht I should get CS to do to get me working again? Last time they didn't ask me for the card number or anything - it's a new card as well as a new box.

Grateful for any help - I am in the CB4 postcode area if that helps.

Cheers
