Sky One 'blipping'

Already reported on Digital Spy, but I know NTL engineers read this forum so...

Lots of people are having problems with blackouts on Sky One. Last for a few seconds, then the sound returns and a second or two later the picture. Sometimes it returns out of sync. At the start of the week it would be two or three blips in 30 minutes, but it is now far worse: my wife counted ten in the 2.30 broadcast of Scrubs today. It's not just Scrubs: its been reported by other customers as occurring during the Simpsons and Enterprise new episodes this week.

What's up guys? Doesn't seem to be a local issue. Other channels appear fine

Have actually only noticed it on Sky One thinking about it, I only watch Star Trek on it but I have noticed the problem since the beginning of the week

Re: Sky One 'blipping'

Had similar problems for the last week or two. I have noticed similar on ITV1 but no where near as frequent as Sky1.

Also, does anyone know if these channels have anything in common? (Not sure if NTL works the same way as Freeview with channels sharing a multiplex)

Re: Sky One 'blipping'

Yers I'm having this trouble with Sky 1 also. Been this way for a couple of days. Also noticed this on Sky Sports News to a lesser extent. I'm using dialup at the moment because Broadband has gone down. Although it was working earlier. I've checked service status and only email is in trouble. I'll check tomorrow during the day and if it's still dodgy a call to NTL seems to be the option.

Re: Sky One 'blipping'

Started with sky and spread to other channels like Paramount.Last night it happened on Sky then Living and then EVERY channel went down for about 15 minutes. Will have to check Sky tonight.I did note before a slight difference on Sky in that every time there was a blackout the lip synch went as well....Now could that be a clue to the cause?

Re: Sky One 'blipping' resolved?

Watched several hours of Sky One yesterday: no blips. Ditto Channel 4, E4 and Paramount. Looks like the engineers have fixed whatever was wrong.

Couple of minor blips around 18:00 yesterday on SKY SPORTS NEWS, but appears to be okay.
