Re: The Cable Forum Exit Poll
Wonder if this means people who choose cable TV over satellite are more likely to vote Tory? That's one peculiar piece of demographics.

I wouldn't imagine the Greens offering a lift service unless they were to carry you or had a bike buggy.

I have Cable and am happy with NTL (mostly) and a card carrying Lib Dem.
Never been happy with BT

I do not know, but putting the current results in the BBC Seat Calculator:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/vote2...ml/default.stm
Gives the LibDems a 196 seat majority!
That would be a strange world to wake up to tomorrow!

Could be me ....
I voted Lib Dem - at 07:15 this morning
Went in on the way to customer site in Wales (Polling station is about 100yds from my house )
Lib Dems will cost me more money (50% bracket etc), but seem to have some sensible policies as regards the health service and education (with a first child on the way, those are now very important to me). Also I hate the council tax, and they seem to have a fairer way to do this as well.
We had a flyer through the door from each of the main parties, but no canvassing, and my wife has been at home on maternity leave, so its not link they came round when we were not in...
I get the feeling sometimes that the candidates in our area can't be arsed to come round to see people who they think have already made up their minds.

Re: The Cable Forum Exit Poll
Well, I won't get to vote until I'm almost home this evening, and as I'm unlikely to get online after that, I'm going to vote in our exit poll now, as I have decided who I'm voting for.
I'm going Lib Dem. This is a big thing for me, as I have never before transferred my vote to another main party. I've declined to support the Tories in the past (Referendum Party in 1997!) but never looked hard at the people and policies on offer and decided to move elsewhere.
The straw that broke the camel's back was an 'election communication' from the moron Tory candidate in our constituency (Stirlingshire), that went along the lines of 'by now you have received the council bill for your band G property' .... and followed by some scare stories about Revaluation (which is not currently scheduled to happen at all in Scotland) and Local Income Tax.
Once I had finished having palpitations and reminded myself that this idiot could not possibly know more about Council Tax band of my house, and that my house is in fact Band D, I got very angry. If he can't put a positive case for his own policies, and can't even get his facts straight, then he doesn't get my vote.
The Lib Dems get it because I agree with a lot of the sensible things they are proposing and they offer a referendum on some of the things I don't agree with them over (the Euro, for example). Meanwhile Mrs T is voting Lib Dem because she thinks it's appalling how certain sections of the media keep sneering at Charles Kennedy for being tired when he has a newborn baby in the house. As somone who's set to become a father again in the next month, I have a great deal of sympathy for him too!

Anne Maguire, entered parliament in 1997 after ousting a Tory, and by the sound of it her flavour would be somewhat akin to Tony Bliar's bottom, as she seems to spend a lot of time up it.

Re: The Cable Forum Exit Poll
It is actually quite interesting to me that people had only recently made the mind up, by the sounds of it some as late as when they had just received their ballot paper, showing just how unpredictable it all can be.
