Grrr! Fed up with current mobo, need a recommendation!

I run an Asus A8V Deluxe (very early Rev 1) mobo at the moment, and it's driving me up the wall - every time I start to enjoy a nice game of Far Cry it crashes.
Don't even go there with trying to solve the problem, I know it's the mobo and it has been for nearly a year.

I need a replacement but it must have a spec like this:

Socket 939 for Athlon64
Dual Channel DDR (Corsair compatible preferred)
SATA (non-RAID preferred on this one, don't like ****ing about with floppy disks)
AGP port at 8x speed
5 PCI slots

I don't want or need onboard video or sound, it must have at least one 100MBit LAN port though.

Generally any good quality and stable s939 board will do, I'm leaving the performance aside until I get my dual ATI cards when they release the next-gen with their SLI-type chipset.
I'll spend up to £100 max, prefer £80 or less, thanks.

Back on topic

Go for an nForce 4 Ultra/SLI board m8, can't beat 'em.

Re: Grrr! Fed up with current mobo, need a recommendation!

I give up.
I think I'll listen to Bifta, who recommended waiting for the ATI chipsets/graphics cards - you're probably right my man, I've lived with this board for a year so a few months more can't hurt that much.

Probably already got the CPU if he's planning to replace an existing board that is already running in his machine

Not a great deal in it, the Nforce 4 creeps ahead in a majority of the tests, but take a look at the Ethernet CPU utilisation, 18.9%.

He's been using an Asus A8V, unless he's been pretending to play games on it due to a lack of a socket 939 processor I'd say it's fairly obvious he has one.

It's only a minor problem anyway, they reckon it'll be fixed in a driver update and besides, a lot of people use their own NIC's.
