did the advisor check the remote was enabled on your account? in some cases analogue remotes need to be activated.

Re: Remote Control Not Working - any ideas???

Ok guys, I think I now know the problem but still can't get it resolved

I had previously arranged to switch from anologue to digital and had a date to do this. Unfortunealy, I had to subsequently cancel this appointment, as I had to go into hospital for an op at short notice. So they cancelled the digital upgrade but at the same time it appears they cancelled my anologue account I specifically stated that I wanted to stick with the anologue service until further notice

Nobody seems to know how I am still receiving the anologue programmes, what with my account being cancelled, but this is the reason for the remote not working. So apparently what I need is for my anologue account to be re-connected and hey presto, everything should work again!

But, of course, this is NTL and its never that simple (as I've read in threads elsewhere). Basically, nobody wants to own the problem and get it fixed.

Firstly, I rang 'Faults' who confirmed the problem and told me to ring 'CS' who should be able to re-connect my anologue service. So I rang 'CS' who said they couldn't do it and I should ring 'Sales' as the account had been stopped and it was similar to setting up a new account. So I rang 'Sales', who said they couldn't do it because it wasn't a new account (I have an existing account number and the hardware, etc, etc) and that 'CS' should be able to do it for me What more do they want me to do??? I have already identified the problem for them (thanks to help via this forum) and it looks like they want me to resolve it as well

I am getting so wound up, all I want is for one person to own the problem and get my service working correctly.

Thanks very much to Shredder for helping me identify the problem and for trying to resolve it for me If only everyone at NTL was a good as you!

Re: Remote Control Not Working - any ideas???

[QUOTE=greens]Done that, should be here next week. Not normally a problem, just that I am off work recovering from an operation and bending down to change channels is the last thing I feel like doing!! Why do these things always happen at the wrong time??

Also not convinced it is the remote. I also have a spare Jerrold remote which I have tried with new batteries and doesn't work either.

Just get your self a long stick mate!!

Tip - when quoting, put [ QUOTE = Name](but without the spaces) before and [ / QUOTE ](again without the spaces) at the end. This gives
