strange problem in firefox 1.3

strange problem in firefox 1.3

well actually I had it in previous versions, but I don't know how to fix it.

say I enter something into a text box, like google, I have the history items that I searched for appear beneath the text box.

I cannot use the arrow keys to highlight the selection, I actually have to use the mouse, this is beginning to annoy me, as I prefer my keyboard.

how can I fix this?

EDIT: mainly happens when there is only one choice like in the screen shot

Try this, go into Internet Options (tools- Internet Options) and click on the AutoComplete button and uncheck the box for 'forms' after clicking on the button to clear the Autocomplete history.

He's using Firefox not IE.
Go into the options screen and see if this is ticked:

Ok, here's another poorly fox, this happened after a failed self-update
The black part is whats supposed to be a menu!
