Re: 550 Quid for a new gaming pc

Hiya that pc is a nice price but I do hold wonders over.

1) The Warranty being honoured

2) The quality of the parts being used, hence Ram low latency is better, however 2gigabyte is being shouted out at top of there voiced and is nice sounding but if its cheapo ram it will be ****e.

3) The GPU card.. the 9550?? the main players are x700 x800 x850 6800 6800gt 6800ultra so as I know in the main gaming world they are the best.

Also it runs on AGP this method of bus speed system is outdated and will prevent future updates, pci-e is taking over and also that is brining in SLi systems which are dual GPU based.

Its a niceish system at a half decent price but I would not purchase it I am happy with the one I have bought knowing the motherboard will house the future processors and GPU cards to come out, and that my ram is of suitable quality.

Cool Re: 550 Quid for a new gaming pc

Hello,

Dunno if you got it yet, but I just ben on www.bolton-computers.co.uk and tweaked a game base unit, here's the spec and it came in at £597.

Athlon 64 ASUS Motherboard, , Viper Blue Case (u can save a few quid reducing case), Athlon 64 3400+ Processor, 1GB DDR400 Memory, 120GB SATA 7200rpm Hard Drive, DVDRW (Dual Layer), 128MB GeForce 6800LE, 1.44Mb Floppy Drive, Value 5.1, Standard 350W PSU,

cos your only sticking point seems to be video card, you could always get the card later as they are easy to install. re memory off ebay, yup, you can get ram dirt cheap on ebay, just make sure its a seller who has a past record on ebay.

Desent sounding machine, the 3400 is a socket 754 chip (unless your very luckythere is a 3400 939 but you not likely to find one)not 939 so no dual channel ram,

Re Ram from ebay,IMHO I would only ever buy branded memory, generic isn't tested it could fail straight away, the latency tends to be high, with ram the old adage stand you def get what you pay for

mohaa runs on my poor spec 1ghz athlon , you will have no problem with that game or call of duty , fyi the gameing at the moment is split between the two varieties , so you may need to get both if you want to be involved

Re: 550 Quid for a new gaming pc

Yeah well I like the specs and thanks guys/girls.

Got letter from Mesh today stating the 4th is my delivery date, with some disclaimer behind it saying about it is only a estimated day.

Re: 550 Quid for a new gaming pc

Yes they do mention about the extensive testing period before release, they state they finish and ship on the 3rd ( estimated ) and then the 4th is the estimated date of delivery to myself, going nuts though as I really do need my own computer right now.

Also the 512 DDR ram is a single stick so looks like I will just order another stick of it asap, I can get the cash up.

Will let you know if anything else shows up, and if anyone thinks I am messing I will upload pictures of the invoice, as I know I have run a **** load of gaming pc threads to get to this point.
