Another analogue channel dropped?
Can't get LivingTV tonight, channel 15 on my analogue box just a message saying it's not possible to order any further events?
I'm in the NG17 area.
Is this another channel NTL have dropped from analogue? I lost Men & Motors last week now LivingTV, what's going on?
What other surprises have NTL in store?

NTL are slowly degrading the analogue system, just to encourage you to up grade

Re: Another analogue channel dropped?
So why are they not INFORMING me that they are dropping channels?
I have no knowledge of these channel drops until they happen! Surely they are breaching some of their terms as the service is being degraded by the removal of channels and they (NTL) are not letting me know in writing.

no problem in the Grimsby/Cleethorpes area - also I have MM sharing with travel on channel 52, but only after 11pm.
If Living really went there would be a riot here - no Charmed

Re: Another analogue channel dropped?
Well, M&M USED to share with Granada Plus on channel 8 until it changed to ITV3, but we don't get ITV3 as it's digital only. M&M did transmit at 11pm like you say, but all I get now is the same message as I get for LivingTV about not being able to order further channels.
LivingTV shared with one of the adult channels on channel 15 until 12pm when the adult channel started. They still transmit the 10min preview for the adult channel though but I get no LivingTV before it.
What I'm not sure of, and I'll find out later tomorrow, is if Living now goes off earlier than 12pm or is just not transmitting at all now on channel 15.

Which is excellent, each analogue that goes frees up space for 5 or 6 digi channels.

but 'apparently' introduces lock outs, pixellation, sound loss at key moments, & other stuff which analogue doesn't get - sell me, sell me

ANd when an analogue channel dissapears, do digital users then actually get 5 or 6 extra channels?
I think not

Re: Another analogue channel dropped?
Which is all nice and dandy for people with digital but currently does nothing for me!
Even NTL's page about their Analogue service still lists Men & Motors AND LivingTV as available:
http://www.home.ntl.com/page/analoguepackfulllisting
Looks like another annoyed customer is going to be calling some unfortunate NTL person very soon!

Re: Another analogue channel dropped?
Am I right in thinking that there are different analogue packages available in different areas? I'm on the analogue service in Westminster and was looking for a listing of the channels now available to me. the listing at http://www.home.ntl.com/page/analoguepackfulllisting bears some resemblece to the channels I get but is not totally correct, is there a listing for Westminster somewhere?

i don't think so. I'm also on analogue in Westminster, and there are less channels than what's claimed on the ntl website i think
The last time i asked ntl, they said they had no plans at all of upgrading westminster to digital. So what happens to us when they decide to start reducing the channels available?!

Re: Another analogue channel dropped?
lohwj, is your picture ok. I've had a couple of fine horizontal lines across my screen this weekend, with a very low level buzzing noise. I'll be contacting cs in the week if it persists but was wondering if it was only me affected.
As for the situation in Westminster, I dont know if there are enough customers currently on the analogue system to make it worth NTL keeping them happy by adding new station as other leave, even if there are channels that would be happy to be added. It's not all bad, at least bid-tv has been added, lucky us (lol).

If only everyone in NTL areas had digital capability?
No wonder Leicester is dominated by sky.
I noticed we just got a new shopping channel as well so no bandwidth saved, what is going on at the moment.

Re: Another analogue channel dropped?
NTL analogue is getting rediculous. M+M still not on base pack, and they launch Proce Drop TV, despite having permisson (which they asked for) to launch BBC3/4 on analogue ( http://www.culture.gov.uk/global/con...nnels_ntl.htm).
I'll be leaving the TV service at the end of the month when E4 goes on Freeview, there's little point to it any more. They have served me well over the years, and I'll keep the phone and broadband, but times have moved on and so much is now available for free.

Re: Another analogue channel dropped?
Men & Motors has just gone live on freeview, my 77 year old mother, who has a FV digibox is ecstatic.
