At the pavement, i.e. not at the kids. If she intended to shoot the kids, and it was proven in court, her convictions would have reflected it. Even if she did try to shoot the kids, she wasn't proven guilty of it, so we can't say she did try.

I think you're speculating a bit too much. It does not mention 'years of immense provocation' in the article either. Sure, she was provoked, but we don't know the details/extent of this.
|
Well, I am getting this from another article, but you have a point in that we only have her word for it.

Re: teacher jailed !!!!!!
Could I point out our prisons are already overcrowded so you excitable air rifle wielders would not be helping out society by using local kids for target practice. Just think of the taxpayers money that would be spent taking you to court and keeping you locked up. Now there's a dilemma for you!

No, but we have to be a bit cautious in claiming she didn't try as well. (I mean, whay would you say in court)

In which case you'd be locked up, and with an attitude like that probably the best place for you.

I'm sure you wouldn't really want to actually kill them, as in ending their lives. If my daughter was one of that gang and you killed her, I'd campaign to ensure you were locked up forever. Yes the kids were badly behaved but do not deserve to die. Punished, locked up, whatever, but not death.
As much as it's completely unfair that she should end up in jail when she started out as the victim, she DID use a weapon (albeit not to harm) when she was not being attacked and was not using it to defend herself.
She broke the law, she needed to be punished if only as a deterrant to others doing what she did.
However if they were attacking her in her house and she felt her life was in danger, THAT would be a different matter.

Re: teacher jailed !!!!!!
She was also charged with possession of a FIREARM not an air rifle or pistol, a FIREARM inferring that it had been modified in some way to exceed the maximum legal power for such a weapon, what POSSIBLE reason would she have for owning such a thing?

Since it was a firearm she was possessing, I would say keep her locked up
If she had missed and hit one of the kids, she could have injured them badly.

If it was modified it could possibly have killed them not just injure them

Re: teacher jailed !!!!!!
And she was jailed for 5 months for possession of said firearm considering she could have got 10 years she was bloody lucky, she only got 1 month for the actual act of shooting at (near/whatever) someone.

That's never in doubt - she was put through a LOT. But waving a weapon which was designed to maim and kill? No.

Doesn't mean she can possess a firearm.
