Ntl Burn in hell

[I am very stressed]

Ok.. So yesterday I called NTL and payed £150 on my bill ready for the bill due date.

3 hours later ive been cut off....

So I call them back.

'Sorry sir it looks like the payment wasnt taken properly, Your services will be restored within 2 hours'

Ok fine.

All comes back on within an hour.

Sunday, Im sat there watching TV and BANG it all goes off again. Phones gone, tV's gone.

No 24/7 support - Complete ****e.

I know for a fact I have £30 oweing on my bill. With my credit limit set at £210, So it cannot be a nonpay issue.

How can NTL stay open? I mean this is a complete shambles.

I really am at the end of my teather with NTL now.

Re: Ntl Burn in hell

Sounds like someone's forgotten to suspend the credit limit on your account, which needs to be done when a payment is taken over the phone as it's a couple of days before it actually shows on your account.

They restore the services, but then if the limit isn't suspended, at some point the system notices and knocks you back off again.

Re: Ntl Burn in hell

So because you're too impatient to wait til tomorrow you're clogging up the Broadband support phoneline for people who actually need support on their broadband? Nice one

Erm, I don't think its a case of being impatient at all Zeph. A customer has the right to feel angry when they have been badly let down by ntl and there is no quicker way to a resolution now until tomorrow.

Are you sure about that? Or is it a typo?

Well you could move to BT, and then try getting them to fix a fault on Sunday - but I don't think you will fair any better.

Re: Ntl Burn in hell

The issue here is not soley about faults being closed on a Sunday. It would surely help matters if it was open. The main issue here is the customer has not been appropriately dealt with and now they are left high and dry with no TV services until they can get it resolved when they ring tomorrow morning.

It's lousy timing when TV services break over the weekend especially after closing time on a Saturday. It's even more lousy when you think you have got a problem sorted with ntl, only for it to come back up and having to wait further more to get the problem resolved, yet again.

Re: Ntl Burn in hell

Thx for standing up for me Mick, people have seemed to jump on me :s

The thing that annoys me is that this is the 2nd time in 2 days.

And the bill is paid!

Re: Ntl Burn in hell

It's about time people started sticking up for the disgruntled customer who has a genuine grievance, and started roasting an incompetant NTL service which leaves them high and dry.

Yes no problem. Sorry if some seemed to have jumped on you, I am sure they didn't mean to. Perhaps they have forgotten your a new member and they need to be a little bit more gentle and more sympathetic to your problem.

Yes it sure is annoying, I have been in a similar situation more than once and its not nice, not nice at all. Please come back and let us know how you get on tomorrow. Oh and whilst I have the opportunity, let me welcome you to the site.

Damn right!

I never appreciated how much I'd come to count on broadband and cable TV until, as I mentioned in another message, someone from House Moves managed to kill my service last Friday instead of Monday the 18th as I asked them to!
