Chip and Pinch
http://www.leedstoday.net/ViewArticl...ticleID=992656
My parent's local Co-op. My mum lost about £13 but it was recredited. Her neighbour is £500 overdrawn and facing massive bank charges. One woman has lost over £2000
The mother of all banking cock-ups, surely. How the hell it could have happened I don't know. I would have thought all the banks' counter-fraud mechanisms would have flagged it up

Re: Chip and Pinch
They were upgrading the cash systems to take chip and pin and they basically re-submitted a load of old debit card transactions. A live system - you just don't do things like that. Change control! I'm aghast

hehe yeah lol... just it's [IMO] relevant enough to not warrant a separate thread.
The banking dudes think that chip and pin is totally safe, and really, it's anything but. As I said in the other thread, this bint on Tonight was so unbelievably naive about it, it's almost like she'd not lived and it was so worrying.

Which shops and where? I'd be interested to hear a bit more about this.
