I need to use a 5 year old scanner which I used to use on Win98.
I cant seem to get any support from Primax for an updated driver for Win XP and have searched the web without any luck.
Primax colorado usb 19200
Help!
i am surprised the 2000 driver would not work , like you say , maybe time for a new one , one thing for you to note , a lot of scanners used to have the same guts in them with a different case , i reckon you have got nothing to lose by taking it apart and seeing if you can get any details off it , you never know
i use an old black widow scanner & struggled to find the drivers until i tried a windows update. It seemed to install a generic silicon imaging driver that worked perfectly. Have you tried this?
try www.driverguide.com log in with user name drivers password all found it on the site pm email and ill send or look on site its easy

It gets worse!! This morning I hooked it up to the pc without installing scanner software and the new hardware wizard popped up (as it does) and this is where I tried to install the old drivers and win 2000 updated one`s.
Now I am trying to install the setup.exe and XP is having none of it!
16 bit windows subsystem
c:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32|AUTOEXEC.NT. the system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications.Chose close to terminate the application.
In fact none of the instalation files work on either cd (I have 2)
Zinglebarb.. I tried to sign up to driverguide but gave up during the sign up process because it was trying to make me download a pc tuneup thing blah blah on and on.
I wonder if that xp driver would have worked though? Guess we will never know.
