email problems

I am in South Manchester and for some reason on my primary email account (only) I am getting an authorisation error, I.E. invalid password.
Other ntl email address' and Hotmail are OK. Is anyone else experiencing similar difficulties? FYI I had the 2meg speed upgrade yesterday and I am now using A Samsung STB for my 2M BB.

Re: email problems

I've had this problem a number of times with a secondary ntl world e-mail address and I've found that editing the mailbox settings helped. Do this via

ntlworld.com - help - email options - add extra email boxes to your account(?) - log in with your main account - then click modify against the secondary account - edit the password then continue to save the settings.

This seemed to kick start it again. There may be a better way to do this and it may not solve your problem but I hope it helps.

I'm not sure if this is just coincidence but it stopped the annoying password box appearing every few minutes and started downloading e-mails again

HTH

I did this, my secondary account is now working. However, it is only receiving new mail. By doing the above, have I lost all the e-mails that have been sent to it since it stopped working (Saturday) and me trying the above-mentioned fix?

Re: email problems

Changing your password should not cause emails to be lost, only if you delete the account then re-create it.
