Sphere 3d desktop beta

(sorry if this has been posted before)
Just downloaded this today..Quite impressed for early beta stage. A bit laggy at first but changed a few desktop settings and works fine now..Worth a look IMO.
One tip.. Un select the full screen tab and you can minimise back to winxp desktop till you get used to the programme..

Re: Sphere 3d desktop beta

I have the installer sitting on my system i've just not had the chance to try it yet, from the example videos it certainly looks interesting.

Re: Sphere 3d desktop beta

i might have missed something here, but doesn't this just make it more difficult to work / browse?
unless it's a novelty sort of thing?

It is a bit of a novelty thing I suppose, although now Im getting the hang of it I find im not using the task bar at all..Just clicking on my selected stacked window to view and back on the desktop to send it back to position.
In the end though it may just be eye candy..Ill wait and see.

def a novelty..but looks good and has some plus points...but the old taskbar is far quicker...so makes you wonder its purpose...other than eye candy

Re: Sphere 3d desktop beta

To those whom have installed and played around with this..can you do me, and the rest of us, a favour...can you load the sphere with a few windows please?

I have 11 windows, ranging from Outlook, 6 or so browsers, dreamweaver, MSAccess...and too loaded pictures...

All seems fine but as soon as I load a new browser window is the whole sphere lags ...is this just me?

and to answer my own question...I have indeed found a very powerful application for this sphere...I've had some development work to do this afternoon...so I set up my sphere as follows. Normal desktop I placed a few windows, outlook and a CF browser. To the right of that I placed all of my I-Web windows...ticket support system, I-Web forum, etc ...to the right of that I setup my development windows, dreamweaver, a few browsers, a windows explorer, SQL Enterprise Manager, MSAccess and notepad!

This gave me 3 distinct modes of uses...my normal email and CF, my I-Web stuff..and then my development things...so I could quickly change mode and fill my desktop with my new context!....works a treat.

If I'm still working like this in a few...I might install it in work!...
