Question Ie6 Sp1

Hallo,

I have got Windows 98SE.

Windows Critical Update has been advising me for some time now to install IE6 SP1.

I have heard that people had many problems after installing this update (especially if you had Windows 98SE).

I do like to keep my pc updated but I am still wondering if it is adviseable to install this or not, especially as it cannot be uninstalled once it is on the pc. Maybe someone knows if the problems have been overcome, and if it is useful to have this installation.

Thank you very much,

Church Mouse

Sorry to put a spanner in the works BUT if you do upgrade to I/E 6 running on any other op than XP, you will not be able to get any technical support from Ntl if anything goes wrong.

Crap rule I know. But that's the way it is.:p

Once they've fixed a few more of the bugs in it.
Not all of the bugs of course, that'd take forever!

Hi,
Thank you for that.

I have got IE 5.5 on my pc at the moment so I wondered why Windows Update is telling me that IE6 SP1 is a 'Critical Update' that is available for my pc.
It has been coming up for a couple of months now but as yet I have not installed it.
Still a little unsure, especially because I have version 5.5.

It doe's that on them all. Nothing to worry about and if you have IE5.5 I wouldn't bother upgrading to IE6 either
