Smile Samsung Features ?

Hi all, have just requested speed upgrade and am advised that my Pace 2000 STB will be replaced by a Samsung STB.

Apart from the support for higher speeds are there any other additional features that the Samsung will offer ?

Question Re: Samsung Features ?

Thanks guys, anyone have any experience of the "known problem" relating to DECT handsets (assume these are cordless phone similar to my BT Synergy) interference with the STB tuner ?

Re: Samsung Features ?

Bad points.
I had to buy a toaster because the samsung is nothing like a pace.

You have to find other things to do it does not need rebooting.

You do not get any NTL engineers visiting for tea and coffee as it does not go wrong that often.

I can understand your reluctance having a Pace 2000

I totally agree with you, had mine nearly a year never had a problem with it, apart from when I was on 1.5mb every now and then I would loose my connection (every 1gig d/l, reboot and it woul be back) since upgrading to 3mb this problem has disappeared

Re: Samsung Features ?

yeah they deffinately run cooler one of the advantages i have found is that i can add my tv to the remote only thing i havent found is one that sets my tv to widescreen, only downside is theres no audio out on them unless you have a scart with the leads.

Cheers

Another good thing is that you can program the remote for the NTL box to control a TV.

Re: Samsung Features ?

That Samsung in the pictures is still going strong, now on 2Mb, but his upstream looks a bit odd.

Just had a 'phone call from NTL engineers saying they are coming to install our new Samsung STB on Tuesday. Marvellous to get a call to arrange time, marvellous!

Just hoping that if all successful it won't affect our broadband access which should be 2 meg after installation.
