Very buggy indeed. Just roll out the VOD software to all areas then switch on VOD at a later date

Re: Samsung STB Getting One?

I'll be getting one as part of my broadband upgrade. I will have to buy a new SCART or breakout for the audio, but I suppose I can live with that.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the Samsung ?? Is it an equal width to the pace ones ? I hope it fits in my TV stand.

Buggy? I have had one for months and had few problems. The bigest issue is that there is NO infomation with any STB.

We would not accept a bought product without operating instructions.

However Broadband is lightening fast now.

Langley Samsungs are buggy - the ones on Bromley (like yourself chienmort) don't have as many problems

Slightly narrower in width and lower in height. however I think the way the card sticks out of the front looks naff and spoils the look of the box.

Good point, anyone know the soft reboot procedure for the Samsung, assuming that there is one?

Quick reset - OK + Left + Right

Re: Samsung STB Getting One?

slightly off-topic question .. i have a black pace digibox and get internet through an external cable modem (motorola SB4100, had it for years now). the speed upgrade article says that the black pace box has a maximum bandwidth of 1mbit. do i need to get it swapped in order to get the 2mbit speeds even though my cable modem is a separate unit? (the pace box is causing me troubles, extra reasons to get it swapped soon would be beneficial..)

Re: Samsung STB Getting One?

As far as I know, all stand alone cable modems can handle the higher speeds, so you should have no problems. The box doesn't affect it at all.

Only users who use the modem in the STB need a Samsung.

Nope, as you use a standalone cable modem, you do not require a Samsung for the higher speeds. You'd only require a Samsung STB for the 2meg service ifyou actually used an STB for your broadband, rather than a standalone modem.
