some good advice or help please

im using windows xp pro with standalone 120 modem
on the connection properties aka network connection details im looking at lease obtained /expires it is valid for 24hrs
up until now i av turned my modem off at night but am lgonna leave it on 24/7
am i gonna get disconnected after 24 hrs or what???
im asking because i dont understand the lease obtain/expires thingy... doh!!
when i had my internet thru a stb it lasted for a week
i would apreciate it if somebody could explain it to me plz
one last thing is if i were d/loading or gaming would it stop me
like i said it will be brill if somebody could enlighten me thanks in advance

Hi mate, the IP address will be renewed without you losing connection, so you can leave it on 24/7 and under normal conditions (ie no networks faults NTL side) would not lose connection.

chances are very high that it will obtain the same IP address again anyway so gaming servers can run through the IP renewal.
