I followed the link on NtlWorld's site to peform the upgrade, but then I'm on a cable modem.

phoned ntl on 0800 052 2000.
Held in queue for less than a minute.
Asked if they could send the 3Mb signal to upgrade my 1.5Mb service. They said "hold please"
Then came back 20 seconds later and said "Done!"
My modem rebooted itself as I was still on the phone, and i'm now on 3Mb
