Be careful what password you use, we had to use the password that was registered against the account when we first contacted NTL for BroadBand not the password on the letter we received for registration Pass lol

1st 128K took 343 ms = 382134 Bytes/sec = approx 3179 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 360 ms = 364089 Bytes/sec = approx 3029 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 359 ms = 365103 Bytes/sec = approx 3038 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 375 ms = 349525 Bytes/sec = approx 2908 kbits/ sec
These results appear to be rather fast: maybe this page was in the browser cache.
I think Mr Walker needs to update his site

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
For those who are getting a message "unable to identify a cable modem"
make sure that you do not have a proxy server specified. If you do, remove this and try the upgrade pages again

What did they say to you? I guess it would apply to me as we are fairly close geographically.

I was getting that error at first, from the url that was posted on here..
thats when I was using the password I registered with all these years ago.. but a few months ago i changed the password to my email account - i used that - it let me in no problems!

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
Des, I;m using my current email settings and these are the ones that I set up with NTL at the beginning. They've never changed - and still no luck!
How do you check the proxy server settings?

Re: New Speed Upgrades 8th March. (Part 3)
I have always had the problem of No SMS details so had to ring.
Just got off phone to CS. Re-booted and now on 2meg.
Very happy bunny.
Well done NTL.
For info I come under Mansfield with a Notts server so this area seems to have the new speeds available.
