Refused a St David's Day photo
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_west/4315425.stm
What do you think of this? I can imagine it must be really be annoying for the mother seeing as she's made a great effort to integrate in to the community, only to be told the child wasn't dressed appropriately.
We moan at ethnic minorities for not joining in to the community more and sticking to their own areas but incidents like this will only serve to cause more ill-will IMO. I'm aware that refusal for the photo was nothing to do with her ethnicity but surely the council could see what potential problems this could create?

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for her - it seems the rules were quite clear and she did not follow them - and rather than simply admit her mistake, she is trying to make a big fuss over it.

Absolutely true and note that council didn't get any other complaints - but you can imagine how annoying it must be when people of ethnics backgrounds are encouraged to integrate with the UK only to end up with this.

Re: Refused a St David's Day photo
If she was annoyed then it's her own fault, she should have read the rules. I'm sure it would have been equally annoying for anybody, regardless of their ethnic background (which is completely irrelevant in this case). She even said herself "There were about 10 to 15 parents in front of me. The majority had girls in Welsh costume. The boys were wearing rugby tops".
