Cap issues - please vote
Further to the various speed/cap discussions, please vote as to whether you have been capped/restricted/warned or otherwise compromised if you are on an ntl provided line.

The only time I've gone over the 'limit' was when I downloaded half life 2 from steam.

If you are an online gamer its easy to go over a gig a day quite often (not every day, but often) the demo's and clients for online games (Everquest 2, Eve Online, etc are well over a gig), even high quality games movies are often 500 or 600 meg. A membership to Fileplanet or Gamespot will easily tip you over on a regular basis.

Re: Cap issues - please vote
No offence people, but this thread is not to discuss what/how much you have downloaded.
All you need to do is vote, & comment if you have been contacted.
Thanks.

Is this vote for the new tariffs or since the soft cap was introduced? I can't say I've ever heard of anyone being cut off, as of yet.

Re: Cap issues - please vote
I can't see it being true, why would they be hanging round a cable forum if they no longer had a cable connection?

Re: Cap issues - please vote
I would just like to clarify that when we get the speed upgrades "technically" there will be no cap and it will be like before (1gb per day but they never check). But later this year the intend on putting hard caps on? Is the later this year putting hard caps on definite or are they still thinking about putting the hard caps in place?

Re: Cap issues - please vote
I assume it's pretty definite.
But please keep actual cap discussion in the main cap thread - http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=21625
This thread is just a vote.

Well I read this.....
Quote:
Customers who exceed their usage allowance with the 1GB daily usage allowance may be contacted by ntl if their usage becomes excessive that it affects quality of service for other broadband customers. Customers on the 1MB connection with 3GB monthly usage, ntl will be monitoring and will identify those who exceed their usage allowance very often, however they will not be enforcing this allowance until later this year.
|
.......as
1mb hard cap 'Coming soon' as in later this year when they are equipped to deal with it.
&
2mb & 3mb no hard cap. Pretty much as it is now......
