and I have tryied it on 3 computers on my home network, on none of them do I get the popup forceing me into the phone!, as well as that there are other members on the forums that have confirmed this is now the case, and I am not going to argue/dispute this with you.

My origional question still has not been answered.

Sorry, still getting the same popup. There's something wrong with your system.

I can't believe this debate still rages on.

You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled.
You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled.
You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled.
You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled.

Therefore the answer to your question is:
You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled.

If you do, for whatever reason, manage to bypass the system that tells you that
You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled

then you will find that you will be charged at the bundled rate as if you DID have a telephone because:

You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled.

As it states in about 47 different places on the website.

I am sorry that you and so many others seem incapable of understanding this, however:

You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled.

It is interesting that you are 'not going to argue or dispute this with me'. The simple truth is that you can't because:

You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled.

I hope this post makes it clear, and anyone who is thinking of going to the ASA needs to understand what the ASA will say when they see the huge grey letters on almost every relevant page of the ntl website that tells you:

You can't order TV without telephone. They have not been unbundled.

What you order on the website does not have any legally binding status until you sign a contract. Before you sign the contract they will inform you that you also have to pay for telephone line rental at £9.50 and your total bill will come to £19.50 per month.

Only because (a) that was the information given to me by an ntl employee, and (b) the website order page. The fact that the phone line (whether taken or not) was uncharged or billed depending on who you spoke to was bad enough. The issue - of getting the Family Pack for under £20pm was the primary goal, as it is now directly competitive with Sky's equivalent Family Pack. Yes, the fact it only lasts for a year is a pain, but then, a lot can happen in this period and I'm happy to say all those who requestedthe promo code to apply for the service now have their information. The leaflet showing the deal is appended.

Notwithstanding the misleading order page (last time I looked), I wonder how many more ntl staff will tell punters that the reason WHY they have to take the phoneline with DTV is because it is required for the interactive element to work. No wonder folk despair!

The issue that you were arguing in this thread was that ntl had unbundled the service, which was incorrect. You were told loads of times you could have the free phone line with family pack deal.

Re: NTL unbundle digital from Telco

OH MY GOD!!!

As some might remember I'm selling up... out of pure co-indicence I have checked www.ntl.co.uk for what I'm offered at my new address... I ticked the boxes for TV service and Broadband on the initial screen after entering postcode and address and it allowed me to purchase broadband (with a 3 month half price offer) plus TV family pack at £19.50 a month. No pop up or anything telling me to order a phone line!!!! flaming hell what's going on! I got to the stage where I was about to order it - closed browser and tried again this time without a promo code which I'd just got off a flyer... same thing... no phone line in the costs.

Re: NTL unbundle digital from Telco

just tried it again this time ordering TV only ie. no broadband and it only has the small print on the initial page "broPrice excludes telephone line rental which must be purchased with your TV package."

other than that very small print, the order process doesnt pop up telling me to order a phone and it doesnt put a phone line on the order.

Very small print??

It's larger than the normal text and in bold. Does it need to be bright red and flashing?

Or ISDN. NTL cannot port my two analogue and third digital line for a sensible amount of money so I am left with an NTL line that is not used.
