Unhappy Does NTL webspace (server?) support Php and mySQL

Hi to all i am new here and would appreciate some help.I am trying to set up a website and have registered the domain name , downloaded an ftp freeware programme and purchased easy site s/ware for the grand total of £2.75 (5us) but on uploading it to my webspace have found I cannot activate the programme.I have been advised by someone who knows their stuff that Php and mySQL could be the problem.By the way I am a *complete* (read idiot) novice and am taking my first faltering steps into the world of websites.

Sorry ntl doesn't support anything like that, its good for sticking some files on that you won't have to worry about eating your bandwidth allowance.

Not much you can do with it but suppose it will help you get started, can mess around and learn a few things from it.

Confused .... what domain name have you pruchased that could be used on ntl webspace, and no, ntl webspace (55meg free) does not support php and MySQL.

ntl provide on the very basics for you unfortunately.

You could alternatively serve from home with a dynamic dns resolver or use a company that provide web hosting such as 1an1, www.1and1.co.uk

There is no need for a 12 month package and they are very flexible, I used godaddy to register my domain name, only cost £1.25 for .info domain

Would this happen to be your own service

The deals look fairly good, although disappointing in the template which is readly available via the web and sites such as template monster

I`m not sure you can do it directly, but the company that I bought a domain name from for a couple of years could set it up so that it would do masked frame forwarding, so the end result looks much the same.

What has the website template to do with the hosting? The original template (as has not been hidden anywhere) was from template monster, however we have furthered it to suit our needs and requirements.

I really dont understand your lack of criticism to bring such a point as an issue.

I did say I am a complete novice (idiot) I registered my domain name with 123reg thinking I could transfer it to my webspace,I gather this isn't the case .Can anyone give janet and john instructions as to exactly what the procedure is when you have found a host.

Many thanks to all of you for taking the time to reply

The template in its self is not a bad design, but its that fact that so many "new" companies set them self up to host, get a template from template monster and start trading, it would be nice to see companies that take it upon themselves to make them different from the rest if you see what I mean.

Although as for the offers you have I am actually encouraged by the pricing you have, if your customer service is as good as your pricing you have a brilliant package.
