NTL E-mail problem

I have my NTL e-mail diverted via Spamcop. I've not received any messages, or had any intercepted by Spamcop since midnight last night, though a) I normally get a dozen or so spams plus one or two genuine e-mails a day and b) I ordered something to be delivered by e-mail and it did not arrive. I managed to log in to webmail, but only by resetting my password - no mail there either,

I'm now in the position where I can log in to webmail, and can SEND mail from Outlook (Express) but if I try to get into the web site option to set up mail forwarding, etc, it will not recognise my username/password. Anyone else having problems, or who can help?

I've tried sending myself an e-mail from a Yahoo accont. No sign of it on Spamcop or NTL wtf is going on?

Actually, the reference to Spamcop is a red herring - is it poss. to change the thread title? My attempt to send myself an e-mail from a yahoo account generated an error at the Yahoo end, stating

212.250.162.8 does not like recipient.

Giving up on 212.250.162.8.

Can ANYONE tell me if this is a temporary NTL glitch, or a total cock-up?

I keep having to log into webmail because my mail isn't always downloading into OE.I also have been getting double or triple of the same emails (spam in triplicate ) This has been happening on and off for the last three days.I checked the server status but it said that an email issue had been resolved!! Really? but then you never know with NTL. It may not be related to your issue but I've had no complaints about email for some months SINCE the last time so this has been noticable.

Re: NTL -> Spamcop???

Just to add to this - I've tried sending an e-mail to the missus, who has an NTL email address on the same account, and it gets through OK! Curiouser and curiouser (and a right pain!)

Re: NTL E-mail problem

Any nice NTL people on here who can help? I've tried Broadband Medic interactive support, only to be 'cut off' by a 'clever' support engineer, allegedly for not responding to a request for my details after five minutes, when the log clearly shows him closing the call 2 SECONDS after requesting my details. (The log also identifies him, and I'm sorely tempted to post his name, but having argued against 'naming and shaming' before, I feel that would be hypocritical.)

Re: NTL E-mail problem

There have been problems with one of the mail storage servers over the weekend- which may explain why mail from webmail disappeared-

i am not sure whether it has happened this time, but sometimes if a storage server goes down then a backup server is put in place- meaning anything stored on the main server will not appear until this comes back up again. PM me the username for the email account and i'll have a look on monday.

As for the Medic comment- if you want to name and shame then PM the name to me instead

Re: NTL E-mail problem

It's not that mail has disappeared - mail to my main address is actually being bounced, which is more concerning to me than mail being received, but not being able to read it. However mail to my wife's addy on the same account is getting through OK.

PM on its way.

Don't think so. Surely, the mail should go to NTL's server, then be forwarded to Spamcop. If Spamcop was blocking it, presumably(?) it would still be accepted by NTL, and remain there? Also, I thought Spamcop blocked the sender, not the recipient? ALL incoming e-mail appears to be bounced, and nothing is being reported as blocked by Spamcop.

Angry Re: NTL E-mail problem

Must be a problem with their servers, my password is being rejected as well.

You think they could have sent us an email to let us know about their email servers playing up......lol.
