user name
when we registed with ntl BB when we first got 128k, we had to have a user name, we had to choose one. we choose Rxxxxxx44Fxxxxxxx
sorrys about the X's but hide some of me info.
we've got ntl 56k but the username is RxxxxxxxFxxxxxx44
all our e-mails are thru this username.
is it possible to transfer our 56k username and e-mails to our broadband?
please this is very important we need to know as we are ditching the 56k very soon
just found the user name and password for the bb account and it seems that i can access the e-mail, or is the 56k account also the BB account?

Re: user name
When I swapped over I was told no duplicate usernames were allowed, however, this would not affect you POP3 emails.

Re: user name
Usernames can be transferred from your dialup account to your broadband account very simply. You can get it done by ringing broadband Technical Support.

Re: user name
Don't mean to hijack this thread but my enquiry is along a similar vein so I thought it best not to open a new thread.....
Until recently I was sharing an internet connnection with my GF, we split up and I moved out. I still have access to the email accounts from the old BB account.
I know that if she cancels her service I will lose access to those email accounts, is there anyway I can transfer the old accounts/mailboxes to my new account?
I know that if I delete them and then try to recreate them on my new account I will get told that the address is already in use, I just need to transfer them to the new account if that's possible?
Cheers.

Re: user name
it would need the permission (by passing security) of the account holder of the account it is on now and the permission of the account that the email would be moved over to.
blame it on the DPA :p
if you can get the permission (or the two of you in the same room) call up technical support to get the account migrated
i believe there is nothing that you can do without the permission of the account holder where the email account currently lies

Re: user name
Wouldn't be a problem getting that permission, thanks very much for that.
